Blogging has been tough for me this year, mainly because it involves more brain power than I'm usually prepared to commit. However, I'm always game to give it another try. However, I have or will have made some other changes like getting rid of my Twitter account and opening an author fan page for Facebook, but closing off the personal FB page. I've realized that all these social media networks allow too many platforms for me to get on my soapbox and either talk about stuff that really no one cares about or rant about something mundane. BORING.
Since I'm not on immediate deadline and plan to hang out with my family over the holidays, all my usual excuses for not blogging has dried up. Once again, here I am in sort of a reflective mood.
Recap of 2010:
February - Trail of Kisses was released. This was book 4 of the Ladies of Distinction series.
March - Upon my discovery of a young German rock band, Tokio Hotel, I now spend way too much of my time with a bunch of fabulous women who are not only fans, but who also dwell in my age range. We booked a trip to Italy to see the guys perform. The writer in me also saw the opportunity to do research and take lots of pictures for future stories. Plotting ideas are coming fast and furious.
July - I presided over the Romance Writers of America's annual conference in Orlando, FL. My term didn't actually end until October 31. I have enjoyed the experience and truly believe that I'm better for serving romance writers.
August - The women I met over the Tokio Hotel fandom and I followed up with another trip. This time we went to Vegas where we saw various shows, ate lots and danced the night away. These ladies are more than a little awesome. Can't wait to see what the future holds for the band and for this wonderful fandom.
October - The Millionaire's Ultimate Catch was released. This book closed out the Ladies of Distinction, and started the Millionaire's series.
As an added bonus, from now until December 31, 2010, I will be giving away a copy of my backlist books; until supplies last. Please email me your name and address at michellemonkou@comcast.net.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! See you in 2011.
